HBase vs. Hadoop
What is Hadoop?
Hadoop is usually an open-source software framework that is written in Java language. It is meant for distributed processing and storage of large data sets on clusters of computers that are produced from commodity hardware. In Hadoop, all the modules are designed with an assumption that hardware failures of the machines are commonplace. Therefore, they should be handled automatically by the framework.
What is HBase?
This is an open source and distributed database. This database is also non-relational and is written in Java. This software helps in providing a fault-tolerant means of storing huge quantities of sparse data. This software is a direct substitute for classic SQL database.
